Bio

Dr. Chien Wen (Tina) Yuan is an Associate Professor at the D-School of National Taiwan University, specializing in communication, information sciences, and technology design. She earned her Ph.D. in Communication from Cornell University in 2015. Dr. Yuan’s research centers on computer-mediated communication, human-computer interaction, computer-supported collaborative work, social media, and health. She explores how people use technology for interaction, collaboration, and health improvement, employing a human-centered design approach and a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods. Her research covers diverse populations, including social media users, older adults, individuals with visual impairments, those at HIV risks, people with depression, and those dealing with drug and technology addiction. Her research findings are published in prominent HCI conferences like ACM CHI and ACM CSCW, as well as leading SCI/SSCI journals in Communication and Information Science.
