Dr. Benson has worked internationally in higher education with universities throughout Asia; Hong Kong, Macau, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, and S. Korea.

His expertise and extensive research include: Faculty Development for 21st Century Teaching & Learning, Learner-Centered Education, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), Assessment: Of, As and For Learning, AI for Professional Development, Teaching, & Learning, Creativity Training, Mentorship Training, Future Readiness for Faculty and Students, Program Assessment & Evaluation, Secondary Science Education.

He has organized local, national, and international meetings and workshops on mentorship, science education, e-learning, SoTL, assessment and faculty development both in person and virtually.
