Bio

詹魁元博士為國立台灣大學機械工程學系教授，研究領域著重在機械工程設計、設計分析、與不確定因素模擬。詹教授的研究可以協助了解失效的原因，尤其是針對多變數的複雜工程機電系統在多異動的環境下運行，並針對這些原因加以設計改善，創造出更可靠的產品。近年來詹教授著手於理論的實務應用，分別應用於能源規劃、機械手臂精度提昇與無人車設計等領域。詹魁元教授於1997年取得國立清華大學動力機械工程學系學士，2006年美國密西根大學機械工程博士學位。回台前曾在美國汽車研究中心擔任研究員，也在美國福特汽車公司擔任軟體工程師。詹教授在2011年獲得成功大學教學傑出、2011年獲得科技部優秀年輕學者獎助計畫、2011-2013連續獲得成大機械系教學優良、2012年獲得國際設計與製造創新研討會最佳論文獎、2016年獲得台大優良教師與IEET中華工程教育學會教學傑出，全國機構與機器設計學術研討會論文獎(2018, 2020)，中國機械工程師學會碩士論文獎第一名(2020)，上銀科技碩士論文獎2018。 詹教授致力於推動工程總整課程與實作教育，不但建立台大機械系總整課程的內涵，也實際推動該課程，讓機械系總整課程成為校內一大特色。詹教授也負責台大D-School的營運與教學，讓台大師生共同一起面對跨領域的議題，發揮創意、展現創造力。

Dr. Kuei-Yuan Chan is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at National Taiwan University, where he also holds a courtesy professorship at the Institute of Industrial Engineering. His research primarily centers around uncertainty modeling and identification within engineering systems, with a particular emphasis on energy, robotics, and transportation. His pioneering theoretical work on optimization and design methodologies has significantly contributed to the development of systematic approaches for addressing uncertainty, thereby enhancing the reliability of products during the early stages of development.From 2016 to 2023, Prof. Chan served as the Deputy Vice President of Academic Affairs at NTU, concurrently holding the position of Director for the Center for Teaching and Learning Development from 2021 to 2023. As a founding member of the school-level virtual design institution, Stanley D-School@NTU, established in 2015, Prof. Chan played a pivotal role in its growth, transforming it into a prominent innovation platform in Taiwan.
